MALAKOFF-MERCER

In partnership with Inter Mutuelle Assistance and Travel Care Services, Malakoff –Mercer offers in the US, a unique service, of medical care.

A) Coverage might be allowed by Malakoff-Mercer, with a phone call beforehand at Malakoff –Mercer/ TCS at 1888-271-0765 or by E-mail at assistance@travelcareservices.com. You have nothing to pay if you go into our network. In case of:

1) Hospitalization: (Overnight stay) or outpatient facility for all that is surgery (procedure + general anesthesia). In this case you do not have to pay up front. All the bills concerning the stay of the hospitalization are taken care of. In any case you should not pay, unless towards personal entertainment (such as the phone and the TV, ECT…)

TCS follows your medical file and is at you service before or after your stay.

If nevertheless you received medical claims at home, please forward it to us, without paying at the address above.

2) Maternity

It s useful in the US, to ask for a maternity package, witch includes:

* The 12 pre - birth visits, delivery, and pre-birth visits by your obstetrician

* Hospitalization of the mother and the newborn.

* The pediatric fees at the hospital, and anesthesia if necessary

The first visit, the 3 ultrasound are covered by the French social security (more than that can be accorded with a medical reason) and late fees must be considered outpatient services, witch isn’t included in the package, so you must advance the money

All the ultrasound and lab must not be done at a hospital and in the network in order to receive a better refund.

B) Outpatient Services

It covers all the ultrasound and radiology care (done elsewhere than in a hospital) physical therapists, emergency room (ER)…..

We would like to remind you that TCS is in partnership with your mutual; taking care of the negotiations and outpatient services for member of Malakoff-Mercer, with the establishments and providers concerned we would like to remind you the procedure.

a) If you decide to use the Outpatient Services with TCS:

You have to choose a provider in Network. You just have to show your TCS’s ID Card. TCS will receive the medical claims, and will apply the discount.

You will receive a statement by email showing the total amount (witch comes with a discount) to pay to Travel Care Services. You have 15 Days to pay this amount. If the date has been breached, Travel Care Services will cancel the claims, send it back to the provider and you will be billed by the provider the original amount (without profiting from our discount, plus late fees if applied)

Once the TCS bill is paid, you will receive your original claims with TCS’s Invoice. You have to send your original claims to your mutual, in order to get a refund from them.

b) If you decide to not use The Outpatient Services with TCS:

You have to paid in full the provider, and send back to your mutuelle your claims to be refund.

1) Pharmacy , Dentals and optical

You could pay directly (to the pharmacists, the dentist, glasses, etc….) and you forward the claims to your mutual for refunds.

For dental TCS doesn’t intervene unless it is a dentist that figures on the TCS listing (in network) a discount might be allowed.

For medicines, we advise you to buy generics, witch are less expensive.

2) Physical Therapy

There is no coverage in the US except following a surgical intervention and for

a limited period of two months. Besides the following case, only 4 sessions per year are allowed. In every case, there is no coverage, you pay up front.

The chiropractors stay at your own charge; they are not recognized by the French government.

3) Biological Acts

For blood analyses, urines…. and after make a copy of your prescription, IT IS NECESSARY TO TAKE an appointment at Lab Corp of America or Quest Diagnostic. There are laboratories affiliated to these two groups nation while.

AVOID THESE SAME EXAMINATIONS IN THE HOSPITALS (Invoices 2 times higher) except if you wish to advance the funds or of course in the event of admission by the first-aid organizations.

4) Radiology, MRI, Scanner, etc.

You will find either on our short list (sent by email) or on our Internet site, option the network, the list of the approved centers.

AVOID THESE SAME EXAMINATIONS IN THE HOSPITALS (Invoices 2 times higher), except if you wish to advance the funds or of course in the event of admission by the first-aid organizations.

5) ER Visit

Please avoid ER visit for:

* Back Pain

* Srore Troat, Etc

Instead go to Urgent Care Facilities, more cheaper and generally open late and on the week-end.

6)The Network

To get access to the network, www.travelcareservices.com . Click on the “network “and enter username and password ( send by email and mail)

If the hospitalization or outpatient service takes place out of network, the refund on you medical bills will be handled by the French social security.

If you go out of network, the refund of your bills will be achieved on the French social security s basis.

Remember: for outpatient procedures, if the fifteen days period has been breached, your claim will be called off, and the claim will remain at your total charge.

Keep your TCS card to facilitate coverage in case of hospitalization, and insurance identification purposes.

Any Duplicate of the card will be billed $7.00
